HOUSE AND HOUSING
STUDIO 3A
The house and housing studio examines the notion of establishing design language through a series of two-dimensional graphic
and three-dimensional spatial studies. With special consideration for the domestic life. Designs will take place from inside to the outside in an effort to contemporize the housing typology. Additionally, designs will curate both systematic and intuitive responses to provided site conditions, context and code restrictions within the urban fabric of Los Angeles.
Concept Work
The studio begins with studying two art pieces and creating variations of the forms that are found in the art pieces. After creating these variations the drawings were turned into 3D forms that were then placed within one another creating a whole new form. The next step was to take household items and destroy them and put the new pieces together to create a new form. These two forms were than combined to another whole new form. A view of this form was taken that was then turned into a wallpaper that had to be incorporated into the project. My wallpaper was turned into an etched design for the glass panels on the housing units.
